At IN JOY LIVING , we work with the humble GAMCHA - Bengal’s everyday cloth- not as nostalgia , but as textile. Traditionally handwoven by weavers in West Bengal on pitlooms , the gamcha is known for its iconic checks and its ability to soften with every wash. Stripped from its utilitarian context and placed on fluid silhouettes , sharp tailoring and sheer layers , the gamcha becomes both soft and structural. It is familiar , but unfamiliar . Rooted , but entirely modern.
